The Southern Hills School of Fine Arts is pleased to offer private lessons in piano, voice, guitar, violin, flute, clarinet, percussion, trumpet, and bass guitar.  Group classes in voice, musical improvisation, violin, drama and art are also offered.    Please check back often for the most up to date class information.

Lessons are scheduled in order of enrollment and based on teacher availability.  A waiting list will be maintained throughout the school year.  Classes are subject to cancellation due to low enrollment.  You may enroll for both semesters (Fall and Spring) at the same time.  Tuition for each semester is due by the first day of each term.  Payments may be made by cash or check.  You may pay the Director in person or mail payments to:

Tuition and Fees for Private Lessons
-$240 per 15 week semester 
-$10 enrollment fee due once per school year (Fall and Spring semesters)
-Music and Materials are the responsibility of the student
-Full payment or the first of 3 payments is due by the first day of lessons

Private Piano Lessons
    Private piano instruction is available to students entering first grade through Adult.  All levels of experience are welcome from beginner to advanced.  Lesson times are available on Monday and Tuesday evening from 4-8 pm. 

Private Voice Lessons
    Private instruction in voice is available to students 12 years and older.  Experience in piano is recommended but not required.  Lesson times are available on Monday and Tuesday evening from 4-8 pm.

Private Guitar Lessons
    Private guitar instruction is available to students of all ages.  Lesson times are available on Monday and Tuesday evening from 4-8pm.

Private Bass Guitar Lessons
    Private bass guitar instruction is available to students 13 years and older.  Lesson times are available on Monday and Tuesday from 4-7 pm.

Private Flute Lessons
    Private flute instruction is available to students of all ages.  Lesson times are available on Monday evening from 4-7 pm.

Private Clarinet Lessons
    Private clarinet instruction is available to students ages 9 through Adult.  Lesson times are available on Monday and Tuesday evening from 4-8 pm.

Private Violin Lessons
    Private violin instruction is available to students entering first grade through Adult.  Lesson times are available on Monday evening from 4-8 pm and Tuesday evening from 4-8 pm.
     
Private Percussion/Drum Lessons
    Private drum and percussion instruction is available to students of all ages.  Lesson times are available on Monday and Tuesday evening from 4-8 pm
 
Private Trumpet Lessons
Private trumpet instruction is available to students entering first grade through Adult.  Lesson times are available on Monday evening from 4-8 pm and Tuesday evening from 4-8 pm.
 
Private Horn Lessons
Private horn instruction is available to students entering first grade through Adult.  Lesson times are available on Monday evening from 4-8 pm and Tuesday evening from 4-8 pm

Kindermusik
    Tuesday 6-7 pm      Begins August 24, 2010

This class is for 4-6 yr olds who are ready to explore the basics of singing and music.  All participants will develop a better understanding of healthy vocal technique and musical terms as they study through songs, games and hands-on activities.
   
Adult Art Class
    Monday evenings 6-8 pm.        15 weeks       
 $100 plus minimal cost for materials
This class is designed for adults and senior adults and taught by local artist Debi Grizzle.  Sculpting and art are combined with applicable Biblical lessons and heartfelt testimony.  This class aides in dexterity and includes completed take home projects.  A materials list will be provided by the instructor.
 
Student Art class/private lessons

Elementary Theater/Drama Class
    Monday evenings 6:30-7:30 pm.        15 weeks

A class for 3rd through 6th graders to learn the basics of acting, staging, and props through fun games and movement exercises.  The semester concludes with student performances.

Elementary Violin-Suzuki Method
    Tuesday evenings 6-7 pm                15 weeks        
$100 plus book 
Beginners can learn the basics of the violin in a group setting.  Students from ages 4-10 and must have access to a violin for regular practice.  A performance will be held at the end of the semester.

Community Orchestra
    Tuesday evenings 6:30-8 pm           15 weeks       
$100  
 Open to all instrumentalists of any age provided they are proficient in their instrument and are knowledgeable in basic music theory.  Performances will take place at the end of the semester.
 
Community Chorus
Tuesday evenings 6:30 to 8pm      15 weeks
$100
Open to all singers 16 and older provided they pass a simple audition in which the singer performs 16 bars of a favorite piece and a few scales/warm-ups so the director can ensure proper voice placement within the choir.
 
Dance Classes
Available- classes will be grouped by age and enrollment numbers.  Cost is $100 per 15 week semester and students are responsible for dance apparel.
 
Special Needs Art Class
To be arranged by director. Based on enrollment. For students with special needs. Come explore basics of art and learn to create your own masterpieces!  Geared solely for special learners. $80 per 15 week semester plus materials.
